First up A-listers: no Kelly Rowland to report back. We were told she was gonna be at the shindig but there wasn't a sign of her. Not even a glimmer of her entourage or wardrobe person ('cos obviously she doesn't dress herself). Moving on ...
Last night (1 Dec) the FIFA World Cup trophy arrived in South Africa after jetting through 50 African countries to get here.
It got unveiled at a party at the V&A Waterfront by Danny Jordaan, CEO of the 2010 Organising Committee who gave a moving speech (with no notes) just before the Cup was revealed.
Muso K'naan was in the swing of things and performed the track Wavin' Flag - which blew our hair back. K's joined up with World Cup sponsor Coca-Cola to create the mix that's being released worldwide.
Fast facts:
Coca-Cola sponsor the tour and have released limited edition (very small) bottles to commemorate things. In May next year they'll be touring the Cup across Mzansi, including small towns and rural areas. The Cup that arrived was the real deal in real gold. No-one was allowed to touch it nor the box it was in, but could have pics taken with it. Snapping it up close was fab - we can see why the teams want it.
