Miss World Crown Up For Grabs

The 2009 Miss World pageant's comin' up on Saturday (12 Dec) at Gallagher Estate in Jozi, South Africa and all the finalists are already on location doing press interviews while preparing to look their finest for the catwalk.

The showdown's being hosted by former Miss Universe Michelle McLean, China's A-list TV presenter Angela Chow and the Miss World Event Director Steve Douglas.

Also putting in an appearance: former Miss World and Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra, in between performances by various South Africa and internash. muso's.

So whose gonna take the crown? Our dilemma is that there are so many finalists (112) to choose from, we spot one and then forget who the previous one was.

To get ino the swing of things, here are five of the finalists from Africa, snapped at a press conference in Jozi yesterday:

The pageant's gonna be broadcast live in South Africa on SABC3, from 17h00 to 19h00.
Five contenders have made it through to the Top 20 so far, after winning various semi-final competitions over the past two weeks:
Perla Beltrán Acosta (Miss Mexico)
Kaiane Aldorino (Miss Gibraltar)
Mariatu Kargbo (Miss Sierra Leone)
Yanbing Ma (Miss Canada)
Eruza Sasaki (Miss Japan)
The final semi-final goes down at the actual event when the Miss Beauty With A Purpose winner will be announced. The other 14 finalists will be revealed as the show unfolds.
