Hang onto your designer-remotes A-listers! After a build-up of four years, new pay-TV platform TopTV has arrived on the tele-scene.
On Thursday night (29 April) the satcaster hosted a huge bash at the War Memorial in Jozi to launch the new service and Snaparazzi was there to flash the action.
The glam event began with an explosive perfomance feat. army-types in uniforms, breaking free from oppressive, dowdy gear. One moment they were in brown-uniforms and the next fireworks erupted as they ripped their clothes off to reveal a multi-coloured frenzy of dance moves - symbolising that viewers are now free to choose what they want to watch.
Ursula Chikane (née Stapelfeldt) and comedian Riaad Moosa hosted the evening and the guest of honour was Al Gore.
Stars who performed included Zamajobe, HHP, Jozi and SA's Got Talent Beatboxer George Avakian, who won our Worst Dressed award. Every time he turned around on stage he flashed butt-crack, brrrrrr.
For a blow-by-blow of how the evening unfolded, see the descriptions on the pics in the gallery. For more about TopTV, see: The Dummies' Guide To TopTV
