Bike Fall Lands Liezel In McDreamy World PDF Print E-mail

They say the Argus Cycle Tour can finish you off but it turns out the bike ride home can be much more of a problem.

Fitness "it" girl, Expresso presenter and Kfm DJ Liezel van der Westhuizen raced the Argus on Sunday (13th) - and then suffered a crashing fall from her bike as she was cycling home.

She was rushed to hospital where she was diagnosed with a lightly fractured pelvis. Her injury sent her into the arms of a wheelchair, a walker and the Kfm DJ's, who visited and got clingy to "comfort" her .

She's been out of action this week but was in good spirits when we caught up with her. When asked to rate the hottness factor of her doctor, she told us: "The nurses and hospital staff call him McDreamy. Seriously."

She was discharged on Wednesday evening and will be back on Expresso next Monday (21st). She won't be cycling home for a while - she's booked off all exercise for six weeks.

Plebs Turn On Plebs In TIOT3 PDF Print E-mail
Celebs
Written by Snaparazzi
Monday, 14 March 2011 01:54
First: Khanyi Mbau got whacked by Tatum Keshwar. Then, the pleb contestants got rid of Bonang Matheba and Snotkop.

After three weeks of celebrity meltdowns on Tropika Island Of Treasure 3, the tables have turned and the celebs have a chance at rehab.

The reason for the turnaround: 26-year old pleb contender Andile Mkhwanazi, who voted out fellow plebs Allan Whitaker and Cheralee Dearlove in the latest episode.

Andile - who won the episode challenge for a second time in a row - surprised his fellow-plebs when he chopped them instead of celebs.

As always happens in reality shows, the doomed outcasts muttered delusional things like: "But I trusted him - how could he??"

The reason for his turn? Seems he's keeping the celebs to freak them out for the entertainment factor.

As each of the contestants pleaded to stay on the show he instructed the celebs to perform. Dionne Song did an oddball ballet routine and Loyiso Gola got tongue-tied trying to make Andile laugh - and did zilch.

While Loyiso didn't get a laugh out of Andile, he got a vote to stay - obviously so that Andile can tongue-tie him more.

Here's a gallery of snaps taken on-location during the filming of the season ... as you'll see, everyone seems smiley, but, when there's R1 million to be grabbed, we can only assume that there's a lot more going on beneath the surface ...

Our cams recently flashed Jamali on location with Popstars - at Zimbali Lodge in Durbs. The group's been mentoring contestants during their workshop week and Snaparazzi was in the action.

A lot of what went down was top secret - to be revealed soon - but what we can tell you is that Jamali are tight. The threesome, who were runners-up in the 2004 season of the show, spilt that they've been through thick and thin together over the past six years.

They told us that they've had diva moments where they've wanted to break up, they've argued and thought the end had come but they pushed on and they're sorted.

They're releasing their fourth album while working on Popstars with their production company Mzansi Crew and wear contrasting but complimentary shoes ...

Call us suckers for moody dudes but Prime Circle's Ross Learmonth blows out hair back. We first realised when he got so grumpy and annoyed on Idols as the first celeb judge of the season's live shows. He only smiled once.

Now, his slurp-appeal has increased more: 'cos of his bank balance. Turns out the group went gold with their new, fourth album two weeks after going on sale. The album's called Jekyll & Hyde - referring to his poisonality obviously.

Gold means 20 000 copies sold. Multiply this by plus/minus 100 bucks per disc and you see the potential catch in him.

Unfortunately he has to share it with the rest of the group (so minus a few thousand), which now includes new drummer Dale Schnettler.

Fast facts:
Also in the group are: Neil Breytenbach (keyboards), Dirk Bisschoff, (electric guitar) and Marco Gomes (bassist).
Two of the hit singles on the album are Breathing and Never Gonna Bring Us Down.

Two Weeks Of Hell, Argh! PDF Print E-mail

It's almost two weeks since the Big Brother All Stars moved into the show and unfortunately for us, not one of them has been whacked yet.

Last Sunday, the eviction show saved both Tatiana and K1, who moved back with added pow'er. Up for eviction this week: Uti, Sammi (of course) and Hannington, after Head of House Tatiana replaced herself with him. As happened last season, the housemates voted for HOH, knowing she'd save herself - a situation too mind-bogglin' to begin to go into.

As for what's what this week: the second house (the barn) will come into play and someone will - hopefully - be sent home for Good.

Here's a gallery fishbowl pics from the first two weeks, taken from the cams within the side windows that peer into the house:

Catch Of The Day: Dieter Voigt PDF Print E-mail

Written by Snaparazzi
Sunday, 16 May 2010 17:34
Our cams have just spotted and snapped Pasella presenter Dieter Voigt at the Good Food and Wine Show in the Mudda City and decided he's a good catch to be squeezed. 5 reasons why:

1) He has a full-time job that won't end soon i.e. he can consistently afford to pay on dates.
2) His hairdo.
3) He cooks - a lot, so you'd always get home to a ready-made meal. He spilt to us that he tries out all the recipe's they cook on the show so he's become a master chef.
4) He likes doing things in the kitchen. The counter/table: hott.
5) He refuses to wear jersey's in winter. Cape Town's freezin'  but, as you can see, he was flashing his muscles in a T - slurpy too. No dude should wear a jersey. Ever.

Tasty facts: Other stars who've been hanging out at the Good F & W show so far (it started on Thursday/13 May) include Penny Lebyane, 7de Laan's Vuyelwa Booi (Alice) and Melanie Du Bois (Felicity),  Pasella's Vicky Davies and chef Gordon Ramsey.

On Monday (16th) Morning Live's Vuyo Mbuli and Leanne Manas were in the action too.

After Cape Town, the show moves to Jozi.

As Heidi Klum says (if she spoke her signature phrase the other way round): one day you're out and the next day you're in.

This is the case for 23-year old Captonian student and actor Francis Chouler who's been snapped up by Bollywood director Mohit Suri to play a leading role in the upcoming new flik Crook.

The film's based on the recent racist attacks against Indian Nationals in Australia and Francis plays the Australian chaos-causer involved in it all. Currently an Honours student at UCT's drama school, this is his first lead role in a movie.

The film hits cinemas in India in August.

Actress and singer Khabonina Qubeka is releasing her debut music album - Gama Lakho - as we speak, and we have an exclusive look at some of the hawt, sultry pics that can be found on the inside of the CD cover.

She's also in the process of shooting the second music video for the album, while filming It's For Life 7 on SABC2 (new season coming soon!).

Apparently she's done most of the work on the album herself, so don't accuse her of being a slacker. It's called "working it, baby!"

Check out the CD pics in her album (starting with pic No. 8, her album cover).
