Girl power was all the rage at this year's Academy Awards when Kathryn Bigelow scooped the first-ever-for-women Best Director award.
Other sheroic* winners included Mo'Nique, who won Best Supporting Actress for her role as Mary Lee Johnston in Precious; and Sandra Bullock who grabbed the Best Actress statue for her portrayal of Leigh Anne Tuohy in The Blind Side.
The Hollywood splash exploded in flashworks at the Kodak Theatre on Sunday night (7 March) and Snaparazzi got official accreditation to bring you a gallery of over 60 snaps of the red carpet action ... enjoy!

Grab the mistletoe, snatch someone hott and swap-spit with them for at least five minutes, if not much longer.
It's that time of year A-listers ... to parrrty, go wild and look back at the year that was. To celebrate 2009 we've picked out our Top 10 Snaparazzi snaps of the year.
We've chosen them 'cos they all capture something flashy and specific. For instance Penny Lebyane's boobliciousness is the ultimate example of shelf boobs in action, which we saw others wearing throughout the year. Not hers but their's of course, which suggests she's been a 2009 trendsetter.
Also, we couldn't resist Christina Storm's crazy-ass, OMG-and-smoke pic. She's one of the contestants on Celebrity Survivor coming up in early 2010 and if her pic's anything to go by she's either gonna be whacked first; or stay and be feared.

Hey fellow pervers ... a slurpy something to get your festive juices flowing ... Cosmo magazine has announced the line-up for their 2010 Sexiest SA Men calendar and two six-pack'd TV stars have made the pages.
Model and All Access presenter Ewan Strydom has been named Mr June 2010; and kwaito muso, actor and Big Up presenter Tshepo "Howza" Mosese headlines the future as Mr January 2011.
The pair are up against these 11 muscles to win the title of SA's Sexiest Man:

Our lens spotted-and-snapped Nonhle Thema razzing-it-up a marble soapie staircase at DStv's end-of-year parrrty that went down in Sandton recently.
N. was decked out in white: the dress code for the bash and spilt that she plans to chill out at home for Xmas and New Year.
The always-busy Channel O and Vuzu presenter's been out of the country for the past four years over the holidayz so she's decided that this year she's gonna see in 2010 with BFF's and family.

We recently spotted fashionista and trend analyst Dion Chang arriving on the set of Melanie Bala's new TV talk show - blasting back to 2009 in a snazz car from 2050.
We forgot to ask what make it is but clearly it's futuristically big bucks, which suits his vibe.
He recently wrote a book about the future - (thirsty alert: about how there won't be enough water for everyone) - and he talks about it on Mel's show.
It was quick-quick: one moment he was chatting on set, obviously thinkin' Mel was commiting fash. crimes (see right-hand pic for his OMG) and the next he disappeared, teleported by his wheels.
Future facts:
Mel's show changed it's name last week from Absolute Woman to Let's Chat ... With Mel.
It starts on M-Net Series on Wednesday/13 January 2010/20h00.

Hang onto your heartbeats Lungsta lovers ... we're pleased to report that we've managed to score another Lungile Radu HBS*.
We recently spotted the Channel O VJ and Rhythm City star gettin' festive at DStv's year-end party, which went down at a boutique-type hotel in Sandton. Of course we had to get up close to t-t-t-t-touch him and scooped that he's been filming a new 2010 World Cup show.
It's a mix of soccer and music and he travels internationally in it (- and hopefully wears soccer shorts. We forgot to ask if he will - too distracted by HBS'ing- we'll keep you scooped on more about seeing his legs closer to the time.)
It's gonna start on Channel O early next year.

Some say you never know what life's like under the duvet for famous faces until you've slept it yourself - or read the tell-all book.
We recently spied actress Natasha Sutherland on the set of Melanie Bala's new talk show Absolute Woman, spillin' about her book Bittersweet: Confessions of a freshly single.
The former Egoli star, who was married to Steve 'I smack journalists' Hofmeyr for 10 years, released the book earlier this year. It tells of the couples' marraige, their meltdown and N.s handling of it all.
In her interview on the show she talks about how the two met, their relationship now; and how it takes two to tango in a relationship.
The episode will be on the show's debut: on Wednesday/6 January 2010/on M-Net Series. |

A mere month after being fired from Kaya FM for his controversial statements about Caster Semenya, radio DJ Phat Joe is behind the mic again - at Cape Town's Heart 104.9 FM.
The controversial, "tell it like it is" jock will be taking over the Breakfast Show from Lee Downs from December onwards. He will be joined by sports anchor Nick Feinberg and traffic anchor Julian Naidoo.
"I am looking forward to kicking ass and contributing to people's lives by getting into exciting dialogue with Cape Town," says Joe. "I have always had wonderful support from the Mother City since my days on e.tv and this gives me an opportunity to re-connect."
In other changes at the station, Lee Downs will move back to the Afternoon Drive show in which he dominated Cape Town afternoons in 2007, and Clarence Ford moves to the Mid Day slot from 12–3pm.

With Jeannie D and Janez on a romantic getaway for two (disguised as a 26-week stint on Top Travel), and Nico Panagio joining M-Net's Survivor South Africa as host, Top Billing is suddenly a bunch of presenters short.
They've been searching for a temporary new couple to fill the temporary vacancy left by their regular presenters and still haven't found a guy.
But they have found a woman - FHM's Sexiest Woman in the World 2009, as a matter of fact. Her name is Lyndall Jarvis and she has all the necessary qualifications for a Top Billing presenter:
1. Hot? Check.
2. Can string together some basic English? Check.
3. Hot? Check.

Snapped (and grabbed in mid-chomp) in Cavendish Connect, Cape Town: Montana star Chantal Stanfield (Dalene) having lunch and shoppin' on Tuesday - the day of the show's Finale.
We stalked her eatin' pasta to get her to gossip about other celebs by spilling her Awards for the year ...
Most Stylish Lady of 2009: Her choice: Natalie Becker. Her reason: ... “She always gets it right, I’ve never seen her get it wrong. She doesn’t conform to what’s hot right now - sometimes current fashion isn’t necessarily stylish - but rather, she’s always in style. She’s beautiful."
Most Stylish Gentleman: "A tie between Simon Baker and Hugh Jackman. They're both gorgeous for one thing and sharp dressers. Also, a close second is Mark Bayly. I like him so much more on All Access than Survivor."
Star On The Rise: "Jonaid Carrera. He’s very unassuming and as a presenter he knows what his job his. When I saw last week’s Superdance - I hadn’t watched it before - I thought 'There’s something about this guy.' I really want to see him in something else in the future - he nails it."
The Step Away From The Plastic (and this doesn't mean cards!) Award: "Rob Louw. He’s always been cute/hot but now the maintenance is out of control. He was beautiful and chiselled - now he’s stretched. "
Fire-the-Stylist Fash Moment: "Jeannie D’s 2009 MET fashion disaster. I like her but for some reason her J&B outfit completely baffled me. It’s more like you know you’ve got this body but there’s a very fine line between being stylishly attired and falling out of your dress - you know what I mean??
I believe her dress was by Gavin Rajah - who I love - I don’t know what went wrong. Something was just a little bit off but she gets it right every other day of the week.
Having said that my J&B hat thing was my fashion faux pas of the year. It’s called a fascinator - that’s the word for small headgear - and mine wasn’t fascinating."
Most Stylish Fash Moment: "Tammy-Anne Fortuin’s MET outfit was very lovely - the long, green dress and a fascinating fascinator - she wasn’t trying too hard.
Also anything Nicky Greenwall wears on The Showbiz Report. It’s always a little to left of centre, she can be a little left of centre but not too far left - it can be quirky and it works. She works everything: the hair, the legs, the outfit."
